Biography: Dr. Najla A Fakhruddin is Assistant professor at the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at AUBMC. Undergraduate and graduate education at AUB (BS in Biology in 1986, MS in Biomedical Sciences in 1988), undergraduate and postgraduate medical education (MD in 1992, one-year residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology in 1992-1993, and four-year residency training in Anatomic Pathology 1993-1997) at AUB and AUBMC. After finishing my training, I started my practice at Hammoud Hospital University Medical Center in Saida until 2022 before relocating to Cleveland Clinic (CC) in the USA to work as Research Associate in the Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Institute (PLMI) aiming to gained some expertise in Digital Imaging, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence application in pathology. I have 18 publications in peer-reviewed journals. Research work includes several original and relevant articles studying genetic mutations in selected but very common cancers such as lung, breast, thyroid gland, and colon. Future projects involves application of machine learning in pathology for tumor diagnosis and classification.
